I can't help you. I have no idea what it would be if it not the same as the power on password.

Perhaps the default BIOS setup password is set? Below are some defaults that you could try:

AMI Award bios setup cmos concat AMI_SW (case sensitive) AMI!SW/ AMI?SW/ j262

If they don't work, the procedure could be more complicated. I read an informative article on the subject. Please check this site:

.bash_profile note: contains stuff such as creating aliases in a unix terminal. After you change it, you have to source it or activate a new terminal for the effects to be in place.
