Web Dav

These are notes on my install of Web Dav on my server.

1. Source : davfs2-0.2.2.tar.gz
2. Binary (Kernel 2.4): davfs2-0.2.2-bin-i386.tar.gz
3. Binary (Kernel 2.6): davfs2-0.2.2-kernel-2.60bin-i386.tar.gz (Thank Andreas Lauser)

• It is a static binary

I chose 2.4 above because I don't think I want the source code and 2.6 might be too new for my free 1and1 account.

PUT it to my top level directory using FETCH

access my server using terminal

type this:

u35608008:~ > tar xvfz davfs2-0.2.2-bin-i386.tar.gz

Results:

• davfs2-0.2.2-bin-i386/
• davfs2-0.2.2-bin-i386/README
• davfs2-0.2.2-bin-i386/mount.davfs

next instructions say to

./configure

I have no idea what this means. my system can't find anything called "configure".

back to the drawing board for now...
