Choraleers

Original Recording: Recorded from TV on the Christmas Eve WUAB Channel 43 Christmas Concert. I recorded the mono with a microphone put in front of the speaker on a magnavox TV.

Digitization notes: Sony cassette WM D6C to MBox using reverse XLR adapter.

This is the Lorain High School Choraleers singing. Not sure if 74 or 75. I'll have to check the memories of former Choraleer members. There were probably 3 or 4 people singing each part. So between 12 and 16 members.

Background noise: the house on 1111 11th Street. I have no idea what was going on. It sounds like somebody is opening hundreds, perhaps thousands of folding chairs at one point, but I don't think we had any.

I don't know where the interference entered the audio stream. Perhaps it was from the television, but it sounds more like it was in the system and not recorded from the speakers of our old Black and White Magnavox.

I've been listening to this through the years, although it has probably been more than 10 years since I listened to this last.

Location: WUAB Studios in Parma (somewhere in SW Cleveland anyways? I guess) Director: Bob Bostwick

Soprano: Cindy Coates

Alto:

Tenor: Jim Marotta

Bass: Doug Wright, Brian Teaman

1. Wassail (Solo: Baritone, Brian Teaman) 2. Jingle Bells Medley 3. Give a Little Love 4. Fum Fum Fum 5. We Wish You the Merriest 6. Light Up the World

After this on tape:

1. uninteresting jam 2. Why do things have to change (recorded) 3. Things don't have to be this way... (recorded) 4. Lord God of Abraham 5.
