AW-2008 Fall-Essay 2 Calendar

Calendar for Final Essay, Teaman, Academic Writing 2008.

(4 pages, at least 4 sources. at least 2 in English, at least 1 in Japanese)

  • November 25 Due at beginning of class: Choose 3 different topics. Write them down, Do brainstorming for these 3 topics.

  • December 2 Brainstorming, Outline, Intro (underline Hook and topic sentence), Body A, Sources (All previous brainstorming attached to the end)

  • December 9 First Draft due at the beginning of class, Bring to class for peer review in class, include all other materials. Make sure you check your Topic sentence (page 3-5) Support (page 13) Verb agreement (see earlier handout) Fragments (page 16) Noun agreement (page 17). Bring all of your previous work.

  • December 16 Submit First Draft to Criterion, Bring Second Draft to Class (WITH ALL Previous materials.) I will check them by Monday, Dec. 22) Please pick them up at my office by the 22nd). If you do not pick them up by the 22nd, You will lose points on your final draft on Jan. 13.
  1. Finish your peer check and self check. Edit corrections
  2. Submit to Criterion.
  3. I will collect it at 11:30. anything after that will be late.
  4. Check your essay 1 and make sure you haven't made the same mistakes
  5. Include all of your previous materials STAPLED after your second draft. Your second draft is on top. Self check is next, peer check is next, and then all of your previous materials are attached in reverse order.
  6. Remember it is 4 pages and 4 sources. If you have less than 4 pages you will recieve a lower grade. However, length is not the most important factor. A short mediocre paper is better than a full-length paper that is impossible to understand.

  • January 13 Final Draft Due at beginning of class.
