20050619Riders: Chad "Winsome Lose some" Wynne, Wade "Where are those bottom 5 gears when you need them?" Muncil, Brian "Moniker to be applied later" Teaman Another lovely ride served up by Chad and bicycling gods who have been most kind this gentle spring. Started up from Minoo station at 6:00 a.m., headed off to Saito, pretty much East and tad North of here. It's a more reasonable start than going straight up the wall behind Minoo station. Followed the monorail up to Saito, Pheasant Meat, and a steep MF of a hill. Here we saw a lengthy garter snake, a lovely large white heron, and watched Wade grind up his own muscles on a bike with not enough gears, Chad walked and I churned in granny gear up to the Temple of Moth. Partook of the powerbar sacrament while fellowshipping with moths of the most magnificent shapes, colors and sizes, a lonely katydid. Unseen gods and godesses were no doubt there with us too. On the return trip we parted ways. Wade and I took the low road (basically the same as the first leg but in reverse, Chad the high road. The middle road, should you choose to accept it, will come on some other day. Wade and Brian returned at 8:30, Chad returned at 8:45. |
