20050520New route! Today I rode across ogawa at tenmabashi on the pedestrian bridge. Nice course. The only drawback is the long light at ??? near where Ogawa meets the Yodogawa. Yesterday, I heard about the fact that Osaka used to be known as the Venice of Japan! Lots of cool rivers, but they've mostly been ruined now. Some interesting comments about this in "crisis of soul" in Dogs and Demons? referring to the fact that any natural beauty has succumbed to the utilitarian around here. |
