20050515Cast: Chad "Early-riser" Wynne, Wade "kicked my ass on every downhill" Muncil and Brian "Moi" Teaman. Great ride today, perfect weather still rules. We took the falls road, went around the lake and had to swerve around a 2-3 foot garter snake, went on to Takayama and beyond. Turned left and went down, down, down and around, round, round. I find it a scary road because there is almost never any place to escape on the left, only drainage gutters, curbs and sheer walls of mountain. I hereby dub it "the chute." However it is so fast, I think only 2 cars passed us through most of it. Not nearly as scary as route 4 down to East Minoo with narrow roads and lots of heavy trucks that insist on being in front of you just to slow up behind the truck in front. Finally ended up in Ikeda and came back home through satsukiyama and then the "old road" back home.
